Quincy Community Works On Improving Safety After Murder Nearly 4 Years Ago: WGEM.com

February 24, 2012 - It’s been four years since a murder was committed at Cedar Creek Apartments in Quincy, Ill. Since then, great strides have been made to make the Cedar Creek Apartment community safer; a large part of that being due to Dominium’s acquisition of the apartment community in 2009.

Cedar Creek now employs a very strict screening process for new residents. Cedar Creek Property Manager, Jennifer Ham explains, "You've got to let them know that you don't allow that out here when we are going over our lease I let them know that we have a zero tolerance for drugs.”

In working to make Cedar Creek Apartments a safer community, management also works closely with the Quincy Police Department.

"They'll call and say we are looking for this individual if you see this vehicle will you let us know and we do because there is only one way out of here and we know who is coming and going," said Ham.
