Dominium portfolio reaches milestone of 20,000 units

Dominium’s core business is affordable housing, and it has become a leader in the industry. With more than 14,000 owned units in 158 properties, Dominium is No. 9 on the 2011 Affordable Housing Finance list of Top 50 Owners. The current business model has not wavered much from the foundation laid nearly 40 years ago by founders David Brierton and Jack Safar.
“A majority of our growth throughout the years, and particularly of late, is due to strategic partnerships with financial institutions. The past 24 months have resulted in many opportunities to build strong, mutually-beneficial relationships with major lenders,” explained Paul Sween, Dominium co-managing partner.
“Moving forward, we will continue to stay close to our core business and look for development and acquisition opportunities, as well as looking for the right personnel and external partnerships that make sense for Dominium,” said Armand Brachman, Dominium co-managing partner.
Financial partners are only one part of the team of professionals at Dominium that contribute to its growth year after year. Leadership, employees and external advisors help to make strategic, thoughtful decisions that have helped the company reach its milestone of 20,000 owned and/or managed units.
“As the Dominium portfolio continues to grow, we have worked to make sure we have the most effective, knowledgeable team of professionals in the business,” said Mark Moorhouse, Dominium senior vice president and project partner.
