Dominium Expands its Portfolio in Texas with Timbers at Hickory Tree
The Minneapolis developer will host a groundbreaking for the Balch Springs property on Feb. 27
Dominium, a leading Minneapolis-based apartment owner, developer and manager, announced today that it is expanding its portfolio in Texas with the successful closing on Timbers at Hickory Tree. The Balch Springs property is Dominium’s second new construction project in the state.
Timbers at Hickory Tree will break ground on Feb. 27 and is set to be completed in the spring of 2021. The community will provide 216 units of affordable family housing. The $53 million development is conveniently located just east of Dallas and will be an ideal home for working families and commuters.
“Timbers at Hickory Tree will provide much needed affordable housing in the ever-expanding Dallas-Fort Worth market,” said Jeff Spicer, Dominium’s
Vice President and Project Partner who runs the developer’s Texas satellite office. “Rapidly growing communities are always in need of affordable housing and we are excited to be creating a new and affordable community there.”
This development would not have been possible without the support of Berkadia, TCF Bank, Dougherty Funding, Alliant Capital and the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.
