Dominium Celebrates The Legends of Blaine Grand Opening
A recently constructed senior living community in Blaine, Minn., opened its doors with a virtual grand opening event Dec. 17.
Dominium, a Minneapolis-based leading affordable housing owner, developer and manager, announced today the grand opening of The Legends of Blaine, a 192-unit affordable senior housing community. The new community located in Blaine, Minn., provides Twin Cities metro seniors with high-quality homes and amenities at an affordable price.
Dominium closed on the land for this new senior living community in November of 2018 with construction completed in May of 2020. The four-story apartment complex offers a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units. The building has an underground parking garage, as well as above-ground parking and green space surrounding the property.
Residents of The Legends of Blaine can enjoy an array of amenities including a clubroom, craft room, fitness center, movie theater, storage lockers and salon.
“We are excited to unveil this brand-new affordable community to seniors in the Twin Cities,” said Nick Andersen, Vice President and Project Partner at Dominium. “This complex will provide hundreds of residents with high quality, yet affordable accommodations in a prime location. The Legends of Blaine builds on our previous successes in developing senior housing and we’re proud to add this property to our portfolio.”
Dominium celebrated the grand opening of The Legends of Blaine virtually on Dec. 17 with speakers including Blaine Mayor Tom Ryan, Dominium’s Vice President & Project Partner Nick Andersen and Partner and Senior Vice President of Development & Acquisitions Mark Moorhouse. Video of the event is available here.
The Legends of Blaine was financed with an issuance of tax-exempt bonds, 4% Low Income Housing Tax Credits and a Freddie Mac Forward First Mortgage Commitment. CitiBank is the Freddie Mac permanent loan servicer and construction lender, along with AEGON as the Low-Income Housing Tax Credits investor and Great Southern Bank providing the equity bridge loan.
Dominium is grateful for these and many other partners; this project will provide quality housing to the senior residents of Blaine for years to come.
