Dominium Celebrates 20 Years of Ownership of Four Iowa Apartment Communities

Developer holds anniversary event for four Des Moines affordable housing properties.

Dominium is celebrating 20 years of owning Crosswinds Apartments, Prairie Winds Apartments, Park Winds Apartments and Southwinds Apartments in Des Moines, Iowa. To commemorate this milestone, the company is holding a combined anniversary celebration event on October 10.

Prairie Winds Apartments is a 72-unit affordable housing development built in 1994, offering 2-bedroom apartment homes. This community is in close proximity to the local elementary school.

Southwinds Apartments is a 60-unit affordable housing development built in 1994, offering 2-bedroom apartment homes. This is a smoke-free, pet-friendly community.

Crosswinds Apartments is a 120-unit affordable housing development, built in 1994, offering 1, 2, and 3-bedroom apartment homes. 

Park Winds Apartments is a 96-unit affordable housing development built in 1994, offering 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartment homes.

All four of these properties underwent significant renovations in 2011. Individual units received new kitchen cabinet fronts and countertops, new appliances, new bathroom cabinets and fixtures and new flooring throughout. All offer either a large patio or balcony and many have in-unit washers and dryers. In addition, they received a new clubhouse with community room, fitness center, outdoor patio with grilling stations and large playground.  Common areas were updated with new paint, carpet and lighting along with new exterior siding.

Dominium acquired all four communities in 1997.
