Affordable Units Pitched in Roseville
Plymouth-based Dominium hopes to begin construction this summer on Twin Lakes Station, a proposed mixed-use development that would deliver more than 500 new affordable housing units to Roseville.
The city of Roseville is conducting an environmental review of the development, which would include two family apartment buildings with a total of 228 units, a 277-unit senior housing complex, and 55,000 square feet of commercial space. The 21-acre project site is north of County Road C and adjacent to Herschel Street in Roseville.
Thomas Paschke, a Roseville city planner, said the housing would be “income-restricted” across the board. The homes would be for households at or below 60% area median income, according to a 2019 city staff report.
A 123-page environmental assessment worksheet for the development was released in March. As part of the environmental review, the city is accepting comments on the proposal through May 6.
The estimated development cost for the housing portion is $130.6 million. That includes one-, two- and three bedroom apartments with monthly rents ranging from $1,047 to $1,447 for both the senior and family units, according to a city staff report.
Logan Schmidt, a development associate for Dominium, said in an interview that the family units would be built first, with construction starting as soon as July. The senior housing construction would begin in 2021.
